When are the cherry blossoms and autumn leaves in bloom?
【cherry blossom】The best time to visit is from late March to early April.
The annual Kaizogawa River Cherry Blossom Festival is held on the bank of the Kaizogawa River (a 15-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station on the Kintetsu Railway Line). 500 cherry trees line the 1.4-km stretch along the bank of the left bank of the Kaizogawa River in full bloom.
【autumn leaves】Late November is the best time to visit.
In late November, the "Suizawa Momiji Festival" is held at the "Momiji Valley," a famous autumnal foliage viewing spot (just a short walk from the Miyatsumaguchi stop on the Mie Kotsu Bus), and the valley is illuminated during the festival period.
What is Yokkaichi's specialty (food)?
Yokkaichi Tonteki is famous for its dark sauce flavor and mouth-watering pork. It is characterized by a single piece of meat connected to one side in the shape of a glove.
What are your most popular souvenirs?
Banko pottery , Kabusecha tea, and local sake are popular. Nagamochi, a famous Japanese confectionery, is made by wrapping homemade sweet bean paste in a rice cake, stretching it long and thin, and baking it on both sides.
Where can I buy souvenirs?
It is available at "Iseji Terrace" in the Kintetsu Department Store directly connected to Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station, and at "Jibasan Mie Meihin Kan" which promotes and sells local products from the Hokusei area of Mie Prefecture. Banko pottery is also available at the "Utsuwa-tei" store on the second floor of Bankonosato Kaikan.
Can you provide a tour guide?
Volunteer guides will show you around Yokkaichi's historical sites, streets, and local products. However, reservations must be made at least one week in advance of the day you wish to be guided.
