In the hands-on experience, you can choose from several types of Japanese paper and paste them together to make an original Hinaga Uchiwa.

Visit Yokkaichi Banko-Yaki, a traditional craft, in the gallery of the pottery studio

Banko-yaki is a local industry of Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, and is designated as a national traditional craft. At Suigetsu Pottery, we will have a tour of the gallery and a talk about the history of Banko-yaki and the items on display.

Japanese sweets loved since the Warring States Period! Yokkaichi's famous confectionery, "Nagamochi"!

It is a long-established shop with 460 years of history dedicated to Nagamochi (rice cakes). The Yokkaichi specialty, nagamochi, is a rice cake filled with red bean paste, stretched long and thin, and lightly baked on both sides. Since it was made in the Hinaga area, it came to be called nagamochi.
