Seki Juku
The only post town on the Tokaido Highway that still retains its historical townscape
Seki-juku was the 47th stop on the 53rd leg of the Tokaido Highway counting from Edo (now Tokyo), and was crowded with people on their way to and from work and on their way to Ise (Ise Shrine).
As the only post town on the Tokaido Highway where historical townscape remains, it has been selected as a national preservation district for groups of important buildings.
In Sekijuku, we walked around the HatagoTamaya Museum and the Seki Machinami Museum with a local volunteer guide.
