Mochi with red bean paste stretched into the shape of a cow's tongue. It has been sold as a souvenir for visitors to Ise since the Edo period (1603-1867).
"Nagamochi" is made by wrapping a moderately sweet bean paste in a rice cake, stretching it long and lightly searing both sides. The collaboration of the savory and chunky texture of the rice cake and the sweetness of the bean paste is exquisite.
