The Inner Srine(naiku) is dedicated to Amaterasu, the supreme goddess. Simply designed, the goshoden, or inner sanctum, is built using Japan’smost ancient architectural techniques in an unique style called Yuitsushinmei-zukuri.
On the way to the shrine, the shops of Oharai-machi and Okage Lane offer delicacies including sweets and loal cuisine and, in the form of souvenirs such as handicrafts and special agricultural produce, just about any other of the traditional products made within the prefecture.
